Test Administration / Off-Site Testing
IELTS tests are administered at more than 270 centres throughout the world. CHES has been one of those centres since 1996. With its qualified examiners, CHES supervise testing at various locations in Fiji, including Labasa and Lautoka/Nadi.
Candidates for the test pay a fee to CHES which is set by IDP IELTS Australia. There is a quota of places available for each test. Registration is conducted on a first come first serve basis.
You will need to enter the number of your passport and attach a clear colour photocopy or scanned copy of your passport to the application form. The passport must be valid at the time of registration and the same ID document must be presented on the day of the test.

2. Know the IELTS rules and regulations
It’s important to familiarise yourself with the IELTS rules and regulations.
These are laid out in the Notice to Candidates and Declaration which are included in the application form. When you sign the application form declaration, or agree to the terms online, you are confirming that you have read and understood the IELTS rules and regulations and agree to abide by them.
3. The Speaking test may be taken up to seven days before or after the other three tests.

IELTS Test Modules and Bandscore
To select the correct IELTS module on your application form, specify either Academic for study or professional registration and General Training for migration. Knowing your IELTS Band requirement is important. Check with the institution/professional body/or government agency you are applying to.
Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer
If you postpone or cancel your application more than five (5) weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administration charge. If you postpone or cancel within five (5) weeks of the test date, you will be charged the full fee unless you have a serious medical reason. If you provide a medical certificate within five (5) days of the test date, you will receive a refund minus the local administrative cost.
If your application for a transfer is approved, you must select a test date within the next three-month period and this will be approved depending on availability for the selected test date. There may be limited availability for test dates in the first five-week period. Candidates who wish to transfer to a test date more than three months away should apply for a refund and then re-apply for the test.
Test takers who seek to cancel their registration or transfer test dates within the five-week period prior to the test date will only receive a refund if they can satisfy to the Administrator that their ability to sit the test has been affected by illness or serious cause. Serious causes include:
• illness – e.g. hospital admission, serious injury or illness (does not include minor illness such as a mild cold)
• loss or bereavement – death of a close family member
• hardship/trauma – victim of crime, victim of a traffic accident
• military service.
*If you cancel your test within five weeks of the test date for any reason apart from the ones mentioned above, you will not be eligible to receive a transfer or refund.
You must lodge an application for refund or transfer no later than five working days after the test date. Candidates must complete a Request for Refund Form and attach the appropriate documentation and/or evidence.
Absence on Test Day
Candidates who fail to attend a test for which they have registered will not receive a refund. Medical evidence is necessary for a request to transfer to another test date. The test centre will charge an administrative fee if your tranfer is approved.
Results will be available 13 calendar days after the test. The total number of TRFs provided directly to a test taker is limited to a maximum of three copies.
Viewing Results Online
You can preview your provisional IELTS result online. Results are usually available online 13 days after your test day from 5pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). This preview of results is gradually rolled out over 24 hours. Your IELTS result will remain available for 28 days thereafter.

Enquiries on Results
The IDP IELTS network of test centres is committed to fairness in all aspects of the IELTS test. If you believe there has been an error in the test results you have received, you are entitled to apply for your test results to be marked again. A re-mark is called an "Enquiry on Result" or EOR. There are some important considerations so please read this information carefully and if you have any questions contact your test centre.
To apply for an EOR you must submit an EOR form within six weeks of your test date. Your test will then be sent to the head office of IDP IELTS Australia team in the global head office of IDP Education for re-marking by trained clerical markers and senior examiners who are not made aware of your original results. This ensures the re-assessment process is fair and unbiased.
The cost of an EOR is $266 (Fijian dollars). You can choose to have one or more parts of your test re-marked, however the fee is the same regardless. This fee is refunded if there is an increase in score for the module(s) remarked. This process can take within six to eight weeks.
To submit your EOR complete the Enquiry on Results Application Form and submit it along with your original Test Report Form, to the CHES Office at 195 Princes Road, Tamavua, Suva.
Additional Test Result Forms (TRFs)
Your IELTS results are valid for two years. During this period, you can request up to five copies of your results to be sent to academic institutions, government departments and professional bodies. The relevant addresses should be provided in the online booking form.
If you have already taken your test and would like to request additional copies of your results, you can do so by completing an Additional Test Report Form and returning it to us.
Charges for courier services and/or overseas postage will be passed onto you. However, you are welcome to provide us with an international pre-paid envelope if you wish.
Please note: Test centres can issue up to two additional TRFs to a test taker under conditions such as damage or loss of TRF.
